Ebicus supports several charitable foundations
At Ebicus we count our blessings, which inspires us to take action for others. We’re very fortunate that our people are doing so well. This makes us happy and we celebrate it at every opportunity. But of course we all know people, sometimes close to us, who are less fortunate. We believe it’s important to share our good fortune in life with those who need it the most. This is why we support a number of charities. Would you like to join in?
The Beatrix Fund collects money to fund research aimed at finding a treatment for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a genetic disease that causes muscle weakness. Although there’s still no cure for SMA, numerous studies into the disease are being conducted, and these are costly. On average, a four-year study costs around 250,000 euros. The more money they collect, the more research can be done – it’s that simple. The Fund’s mission is to raise enough money in one year to fund one new research project into SMA.
Alpe d’HuZes is an event where participants, alone or in a team, raise money for research aimed at conquering cancer. Under the motto ‘Giving up is not an option’, participants battle to conquer the legendary Alpe d’Huez, up to six times in a day. It’s an almost impossible task, but many participants manage to overcome the challenge, even cancer patients and survivors. From the first time the event was held in 2006, 103% of all the sponsor money has been used to fund research aimed at eradicating cancer.
Ride for Hope
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the Netherlands. We need more research into better treatments. Research is expensive and is mainly funded from donations. Ride For Hope is about raising funds for research into cancer in the Netherlands, because sooner or later almost everyone is affected directly or indirectly by cancer. For 1 in 3 people in the Netherlands, hope lies in the future. All the money raised is used to fund research into a cure for cancer. Ride For Hope is an initiative of stophersentumoren.nl.
